Five Corners Beverage Co.
Two foundational elements inspired a key aspect of the Five Corners Beverage Co.'s logo. First was that the company’s beverages are characterized by five flavor profiles: salty, spicy, savory, bitter, and sweet. Second was the concept that the five corners of the world—North, South, East, West, and Home inspire each of their recipes. Recognizing the number "5" represents both of these critical brand aspects, the client liked using an upside-down pentagon as a symbol in their logo.
The overall design of the logo was influenced by the client's appreciation for vintage branding and product design. Our research revealed a design language featuring bold shapes, clear typography, and simplicity could effectively capture the essence we were in search of.
A final consideration while developing the logo was its applicability across all products. Therefore, we pressure-tested each logo option with the can designs for their first three products. Studying their relationship helped us ensure the logo would maintain visual harmony with an expanding range of unique products.

Visual Identity: Style Guide
Pono has been an incredible partner for us. They provided guidance that enabled us to build on our initial instincts and never made us feel silly for lacking technical expertise. They truly feel like an essential part of our team. We recommend them constantly to everyone because we feel so lucky to have benefitted from design at their level. We consistently get praise for our packaging and design and we know we wouldn't be where we are without Pono.”
